We feel like we are living in a convection oven. We did have white tarps on our front porch to block the sun, but the winds eventually tore them up. While searching for an alternative, I came across this faux ivy privacy screen which is advertised to attach to a chain link fence. We have purchased three but we are using them as sun screens. We cut one to cover a large window and a smaller window in our dining room. The two larger sized screens have been hung on our front porch. These screens filter the sunlight and our rooms are pleasant without being closed off by drawn curtains against the sun. The sunlight is dappled now rather than glaring. Even though it's fake greenery, it's still green and the screens provide visual relief. Because of the faux ivy privacy screen's construction, the wind can blow through, rather than blow against. We are happy with our purchase. The screen is easy to work with and can be modified to your needs. More than just a fence screen.

The temperatures are slowly cooling off and the sun has moved more to the south so the shading of the front porch from the sun when it's in the western sky is less of an issue for us. Soon we'll be begging sunlight to come into the house. We took down the Faux Ivy Privacy Screen this morning. It held up very well during our summer of 110+ degree days. Hot winds and high temperatures did nothing to the screens. I highly recommend these screens for more than just a chain link fence cover. Again, these screens are easy to use and are lightweight. Think beyond the fence.
