I bought a used one at Amazon to match my Rumford Gardener copper thermometer since I couldn't find a cheap on on eBay. It came in the original box and was like new but 2 small screws were loose in the box. It was no big problem and took 1 minute to fix.
After 2 months it still keeps excellent time despite it being made in China. The face and frame have been chemically aged, I think the face has also been given a coat of clear laquer so it won't turn the same shade of "verdigris" as the Statue of Liberty or have the numbers flake off. The frame is left unprotected.
The stamping/rolling of the circular frame is so good that you can polish up the outside frame to a brilliant copper shine in 5 minutes and not see any factory scratches or machinework, but you'll have to keep polishing it every week or laquer it. If you need it turned green in a hurry theres lots of videos on youtube on how to age copper.
I like it, it looks good on the patio when having a beer or smoke and it's worked perfectly since I got it.
